Awareness of and demand for innovations is a big issue that should IMHO be a central concern for EI2.

Our clients & stakeholders are more often than not unaware of technological innovations that could greatly benefit them. The pace of development is just too fast and the channels for usable knowledge too limited. And, even if they were aware they lack the "absorbtive capacity" to effectively adopt the technology.

This puts our clients at a disadvantages, limits opportunities in Georgia for GT innovations and Georgia-based tech companies, and limits their economic development potential. The key, I believe, is to understand that enterprises are constrained or enabled by their communities, so effective work on the demand-side requires a comprehensive and collaborative approach.

Work on the demand side can greatly boost impacts from innovations, and is a huge opportunity for applied research.
