After a lot of talking and a few false starts, we’re going to hold the first Atlanta BarCamp in October!
(No, it has nothing to do with drinking. The “BarCamp” name is a complement to “FooCamp“. If you don’t get the joke, this post is probably not for you.)
From the wiki, “BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants.” No spectators allowed; if you attend, you’re expected to teach, demo, or lead a discussion in something. BarCamps tend to have a Web2.0 flavor about them, but that’s not required… if you want to show off your new autonomously-driving Porsche Cayenne, we’d love to see it! (Tucker, are you reading this?)
It’s going to be overnight October 12-13, here at Technology Square in Midtown. More details will be posted shortly at BarCampAtlanta. Limited to 100 people, first-come, first-served. You have been warned!
